600 grams of jelly beans cost the same as 900 grams of candy. Each candy is worth 5 cents and a jelly beans 30 cents. If the jelly beans weigh 8 grams, **How much does a candy weigh?**

#### Solution

In 600 grams of jelly beans, if we know that each jelly beans weighs 8 grams, there must be 75 jelly beans (dividing 600 by 8). Since each jelly is worth 30 cents, the 75 jelly beans weighing 600 grams will be worth 75 * 30 = 2250 cents, that is, € 22.5.

Of course, that will cost 900 grams of candy. As we know that each candy is worth 5 cents, we can know how many candies they give us for € 22.5, dividing it by 5, that is, 2250/5 = 450 candies. Since those 450 candies weigh 900 grams, each of them should weigh 900/450 = **2 grams**.
